i love to watch

Home early tonight and I'm able to watch shows on local channels, to my surprise The Bone Collector's on the reel. I don't remember when I first saw this movie, but it surely made an impact that it landed a spot on my top favorite movies of all time.

Here's a list of films that made it to my favorites list:

The Shawshank Redemption (1994) a banker.prison.one great mind. for me one of the best mind blowing films ever. I can even remember being so amazed with disbelief after that crazy scene!

Schindler's List (1993) Nazi era movie I got to critic when I was in 2nd yr. highschool. You'll be amazed with the symbolisms made in this movie that is set in black and white.

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002)- Dashing, graceful Legolas in action with his bow and arrows!

Armageddon (1998) - My love for space and dream of working for NASA made me love this movie so much, not to forget my all time favorite song from this film!

The Bone Collector - a serial killer movie imitating murder scenes from an old book

Dante's Peak (1994)
-this may not be a top rated movie but it's the first and only volcano movie that's etched on my heart. and i didn't even noticed that the main character was pierce brosnan haha, it was jeremy foley, that young, gorgeous boy, i was eyeing on then.

Se7en (1995) a serial killer movie with a spiritual side.

Ocean's Eleven (2001)- who will not fall in love with the wits and guts of the lovely men of this movie!

A Walk to Remember - Classic Nicholas Sparks movie that'll make you believe in love.

The Fast and the Furious -well Vin Diesel has always been a favorite,

Gone with the Wind (1939) ooh lovely Scarlett O'hara. It's like watching a trilogy in one looong stretch.

The Ghost- one of the most romantic and tear jerker movies i have seen. who would have thought that a love story between a veru gorgeous woman and his ghost husband would be that heart thumping! <3 data-blogger-escaped-br="br">
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (2000)- the first asian movie that I highly appreciated, great cast, amazing effects, wonderful story.

The Bourne Identity (2002)- mind boggling movies definitely appeals, i like the suspense, the actionand the brains behind this movie!

3idiots - Don't be fooled by the title, it's definitely not an idiot movie. heartwarming.funny.inspiring.

Casper - I'm not a big fan of casper, the cartoon version, but the movie was different. It has a different attack, lines were simple yet interesting. Plus I love the OST of this movie!

Edward scissorhands(1990) - one word-heartbreaking. i've always wondered what's going on inside johnny depp's head for playing (effectively) roles like these. But this movie was so heartbreaking I had to pausw for a few days before actually watching the final scenes.

The Lovely Bones - the only movie that made me cry just after rolling in 5 minutes!

Gremlins(1984) who can resist the ever adorable Gizmo with his Rambo looks :))

one sunday

The sun's rays on my face, illuminating every single living creature and houses made of stones, light being reflected on every roof of our neighborhood. It's nice that I get to be on top of our continuously constructed house, very rare do I get to see the sun rise like this.

Our house faces the east, thus the first rays of the sun get to touch the front exterior of our home, it's a must I guess for my mom whom has high regards for feng-shui(although we aren't even chinese). She says that our front/main door must always face where the sun rises.

We've got a pretty nice neighborhood-blocks of houses, lined in a row, plants and trees everywhere. Our house for instance has got potted plants I couldn't even recognize all of them-in front are guyabano trees, fruits hanging from the avocado tree, guava, caimito, a row of sampaguitas, and I guess langka as well, I'm not sure which is which since the fruits are still very small to distinguish from one another. And that's just a quarter of them, there's more on the side and on the back of our house.

People can be seen everywhere as early as 6 in the morning. There are those who bring their babies out for a little vitamin e, tricycles sending families from the church, men/women sweeping dried leaves and burning them, taho and pandesal vendors shouting their hearts out to reach sleeping customers, dogs running and barking all over the streets- a very common scenario of a typical Pinoy neighborhood.

Now I can see people walking by, carrying their palapaspas-a symbol used by Catholics to celebrate Palm Sunday. I remember now, today is Palm Sunday, the day which marks the start of Holy Week for Catholics. The palaspas are usually made out of palm leaves decorated in various simple or artistic ways. Now palaspas vendors can surely be seen even blocks away from the church. I remember bringing palaspas to church when we were a little younger. People wave their palaspas as the priest enters the church and march towards the altar, then we'll have it blessed by the priest, brought home and hung on doors or windows(in our family's case). I'm not really sure why is this such but they say it is believed to ward off evil (from old Catholic customs)

We were supposed to attend mass today but both mama and Leinna are still sleeping, maybe in a little while they'll be up. Now the sun's fully risen and my forehead hurts from the heat, I've got enough dose of my vitamin E so I better go in now, ciao!

a first for everything

I created this blog 8 months ago for reason/s I don't even remember. I haven't even posted anything, maybe because I intended this blog to be somewhat LIS related (guessing from its blog name) and I couldn'tthink of anything at that time.

Oh I remember now, 8 months ago I was busy searching/applying for a full time job, I was working then as a part-time online English tutor for Japanese, yet I felt the need to use my degree for the better. And luckily, 8 months ago I was hired as a Digital Librarian for a local publishing company. I've been too busy since then, totally forgot about blogging! :))

So going back, what now, what made myself go back to blogging? I'm still not sure but like what's always been said-there's a reason for everything. Well that reason deserves another blog post-but simply to say maybe I got inspired. Writing is not wholly my forte but I can try to improve, yes I am indeed inpired to work on it this much (haha!)

Okay that's it then for my first post, just a glimpse of my life and how I feel as of the moment! Hopefully there's more to come in the coming days, random stuff, anything goes. 'Til next time then! Ciao! :D
